Fletcher Cox, DE/DT Mississippi State
The Cowboys had several nice options to pursue here, but they decide to go with ESPN's 7th overall ranked player. Not only is he a top ten player in this draft, but he fits a need at the 5-technique spot for the Cowboys. He slides nicely into a defense that includes DeMarcus Ware and the newly signed cornerback Brandon Carr.
Cox will have the ability to stuff the run game and create lanes for his linebackers better than anybody else in this entire draft. They also get a chance to steal him off of the board just before the division rival Philadelphia Eagles can.
