2012 NFL Mock Draft Pick 3

With the Third Overall Selection in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings pick:

MATT KALIL, Offensive Line, USC

I was really torn between Kalil and Claiborne, as Corner is the Vikings most immediate need after letting Cedric Griffin and Jared Page go.  Reaching for a Corner at #3 isn't the smartest thing to do especially when you are in a rebuilding stage as the Vikings are.  The safest pick and honestly the smartest pick is Matt Kalil, mainly because of the investment they have in Christian Ponder.  The Vikings gave up 49 sacks last year which was the 5th highest in the NFL.  Needless to say Offensive Line is a must in a pass heavy league and nothing can turn around a franchise quicker than having a great tackle to pair with a young franchise QB.

The Cleveland Browns are now on the clock...

Yours Truly,
Dahm
